Send male relatives to work instead of you: Taliban told female workers

by time news

Kabul:

The Taliban seized power in Afghanistan last August. The Taliban have imposed numerous restrictions on women since taking power. The Taliban have already issued strict orders there, such as banning women from higher education, denying women driver’s licenses, and requiring female news anchors to cover their faces while reading the news on television.

An English newspaper has reported that the Taliban have asked female workers in Afghanistan to send their male relatives to do the work for them. It has been reported that a female government employee there received a call from Taliban officials.

The woman, who works in the financial sector, said that the Taliban told them to hire men instead of women because of the increased workload in the office. The woman said she received a call from the country’s human resources department to nominate a man as a replacement for a position she had held for 15 years.
