Sennheiser Unveils Groundbreaking Momentum Sport Headphones with Biometric Feedback at CES 2024

At this year’s CES, Sennheiser introduced a trio of new headphones, with the Momentum Sport headphones stealing the show. These wireless over-ear headphones come equipped with built-in biometric feedback technology, setting them apart from other “smart” headphones on the market.

The Momentum Sport headphones are the first of their kind to measure body temperature and heart rate in real time, projecting the user’s health information directly to a connected fitness app. The optical heart rate monitor and temperature sensors are discreetly located on the inside of the headphones, just below the rubber tips, adding minimal bulk to the design for maximum comfort.

These high-tech headphones also integrate seamlessly with some of the best fitness tracking apps of 2024, including Apple Health, Garmin Connect, Strava, Peloton, Polar Flow, and more. Sennheiser has specifically called for integration with Polar’s software, with the Polar Vantage V3 smartwatch expected to be the first wrist wearable to take full advantage of Momentum Sport’s real-time metrics.

Designed for athletes on the move, the Momentum Sport headphones feature an acoustic relief channel and a semi-open design that allows for some outside noise to be heard. They are also IP55 rated for water and dust resistance, making them suitable for sweaty conditions and even light rain. With a shockproof chassis and clogging-resistant design, the headphones are built to withstand the rigors of intense workouts.

The battery life of the Momentum Sport headphones is a stable 6 hours, with the case holding up to three charges. A quick 10-minute charge provides up to 45 minutes of playback, ensuring that users can keep pace with their fitness routines without interruption.

The Sennheiser Momentum Sport headphones will be available for purchase on April 9 for $329.95, with color options including Polar Black, Burnt Olive, and Metallic Graphite.

In a larger trend at CES 2024, it seems that non-wrist-based fitness technology is on the rise, with various companies unveiling heart rate monitors, smart rings, and other innovative devices for health monitoring. All signs point to 2024 being the year that fitness technology moves beyond the wrist, with a wide range of wearable tech products expected to hit the market in the near future.
