The stock market closed today, the last day of the year.
Yesterday (Dec. 30) the stock market ended with a decline due to the fall in gas and fuel company shares.
The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex, which had closed at 57,794.32 points yesterday and opened at 57,849.76 points today, was down 459.50 points at 5,8253.82.
The Nifty closed at 17,203.95 points and opened at 17,244.50 points today. The Nifty was up 150.10 points at 17,354.05 points.
Shares of IT and banks, which have been steadily rising, have maintained a steady rise.
