Mumbai: Today (Wednesday) trading in the Mumbai stock market started with a decline. The Sensex fell 248 points to 61,045 in early trade. Meanwhile, the Nifty fell 58 points to 18,174 in the national stock market.
As of 09:53 am today, the third trading day of the week, the Sensex fell 248.99 points to 61,045.21. The Nifty closed down 58.40 points at 18,174.15 on the NSE.
Indian equity markets opened flat and soon turned lower as investors awaited news from the US Federal Bank’s policy meeting amid adverse global environment. All the stocks showed decline.
As far as individual stocks are concerned, Asian Paints, Hindustan Unilever, L&T, HDFC, Nestle India, Reliance Industries, ITC, Wipro, M&M Tata Steel and Tata Motors were the losers.
