Sensex and Nifty ended the session lower. Business was on the upswing yesterday, which is Monday, but today has seen a decline.
The BSE Sensex closed down 48.99 points at 59,196.99. This represents a decline of 0.083 percent in total trade.
Similarly, the national stock market index Nifty ended the trade down 10.20 points at 17,655.60 points. This represents a decline of 0.058 percent in total trade.
Out of the top 30 stocks on the Sensex, 20 companies saw declines. Among them, telecom company Bharti Airtel saw the highest gain of 2.79 percent. Next to this, shares of NTPC rose by 2.56 percent, Tata Steel by 1.54 percent and Reliance by 0.98 percent.
Similarly, Bajaj Finance was the biggest disappointment with a negative decline of 2.31 points.
