The judgment of the Kaunas district court passed on Monday has not yet entered into force, it can be appealed to the Kaunas district court.

The court found that E. Skurdelis, 2023 September 30 at night in Kaunas, near a night club, he hit a man in the face with his head, then deliberately punched a girl in the face, which caused the latter to fall and injure herself – she got a wound on her lip, a part of her tooth broke off, and the back of her head was hit. According to the court’s assessment, the accused, being intoxicated and having performed the aforementioned actions, caused physical pain to the victims, showed disrespect to the environment and disturbed the public order.

According to the data of the case, the accused E. Skurdelis pleaded not guilty. He said he got into an argument with a group of people and was beaten. As indicated in the court verdict, the boxer claimed that he does not remember the circumstances of the incident because he was beaten and was unconscious.

“Although the defendant E. Skurdelis did not admit his guilt, his guilt was fully proven by the statements of the victims and witnesses, written evidence collected and examined in the case,” the court ruling states.

As the court points out, the aggressive behavior of E. Skurdelis was also recorded in the video.

“The fact that the accused behaved aggressively, inappropriately and violently during the incident is also confirmed by his further actions, that is, after the violence he used against the victims, he had a conflict with the night club’s security staff, did not calm down, fought, which is also confirmed by the witnesses (…), the video the recording, which records the defendant’s conflict and aggressive behavior with the night club (…) security staff”, the court verdict states.

The Kaunas District Court, having found E. Skurdelis guilty of violating public order, decided to sentence him to 6 months of community service, obliging him to work 30 hours a month without pay for the benefit of the public.

The court also satisfied the civil claim filed by the civil plaintiff Kaunas Territorial Sick Fund and awarded E. Skurdelis 115.75 euros in compensation for property damage. The injured girl was awarded 1,000 euros in non-pecuniary damages from the boxer.
