The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 9th that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with CJ CheilJedang to promote the ‘Sharing Refrigerator’ project that strengthens the dietary capabilities of Seoul’s youth and promotes value consumption of food.
The ‘Sharing Refrigerator’ project is a project to help young people who are experiencing eating problems such as irregular meals and nutritional imbalances maintain healthy eating habits and reduce food costs.
On this day, at the Seoul Metropolitan Youth Center, the city signed a business agreement on the ‘Sharing Refrigerator’ project to strengthen the dietary capacity of Seoul’s youth and practice value consumption of food in the presence of Kim Sang-han, the first vice mayor of Seoul, and Jeong Gil-geun, head of communication at CJ CheilJedang (Vice President). (MOU) was signed.
The ‘Sharing Refrigerator’, which started in 2021, is a project that provides food packages consisting of Hetbahn and frozen food donated by CJ CheilJedang to young people from single-person households and vulnerable and at-risk youth discovered by the center. So far, food packages have been provided to a total of 7,000 young people, helping to improve their eating habits and reduce food costs.
This agreement was prepared to promote in earnest the sharing refrigerator project that has been supported on a pilot basis at some Seoul Youth Centers.
According to the agreement, the city plans to expand the Sharing Refrigerator project, which was carried out at four Seoul Youth Centers, to six locations starting this year, provide food packages to a total of 6,000 young people, and gradually expand the scope of participating youth centers.
The two organizations also work together to improve young people’s awareness of food resource circulation. To this end, we encourage practices such as collecting Hetbahn containers and using eco-friendly packages at various youth events held by the city, such as Seoul Youth Week, and cooperate in planning virtuous cycle programs where young people who receive policy support can contribute to society.
Seoul City Administrative Vice Mayor Kim Sang-han said, “I hope that the ‘Sharing Refrigerator’ will be a valuable help that comforts the body and mind for young people who live lives where it is difficult to pay for a single meal.” He added, “Through the active participation of the young people who received the help, “We hope that a desirable social virtuous cycle will be created to improve the environment,” he said.[가몸과마음의위안이되는소중한도움이되길바란다”며”도움을받은청년들의적극적인참여를통해환경개선을위한바람직한사회적선순환이이루어지길기대한다”고밝혔다[가몸과마음의위안이되는소중한도움이되길바란다”며”도움을받은청년들의적극적인참여를통해환경개선을위한바람직한사회적선순환이이루어지길기대한다”고밝혔다
