The Indian auto industry saw a good improvement in sales in September due to steady supply of semiconductors in the global market and due to festive season demand.

A total of 3,55,946 cars were sold in September. This is a 91% growth compared to last year. As a result, the total car sales in the July-September quarter have crossed 10 lakhs.

Leading companies like Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Hyundai are sending a lot of cars to dealers as semiconductor supply has stabilized. The supply is expected to improve further in the coming days.

India’s largest car maker, Maruti Suzuki, sold 1,48,380 cars in September. It is noteworthy that 63,111 cars were sold in September last year. Small cars like Alto and S-Prazo have sold 29,574 units.

Tata Motors sold 47,654 cars last September. Tata Punch and Nexon are the two best selling cars. Also, on a monthly basis, Tata Motors hit a new high in September.

Hyundai sold 32,574 cars in September. Last year in September, it sold 18,459 cars.
