The wait is almost over: the “Quarratin September”, version 2024, is finally about to start. A long series of events that will range from sports to music, passing through gastronomy, games, art, debates and much more, unfolding over the course of about two months. The ideal opening act, the day after tomorrow, will be the amusement park in Piazza Moro and Piazza Berlinguer, while the following day the Parco Verde di Olmi will host the Pozzo di Giacobbe festival. But the highlight of next Friday will be the inauguration of the exhibition “1935 – 1985 fifty years of cycling in Quarrata”: the ribbon cutting is scheduled for 10 am at La Civetta and the guest of honor will be the former cycling champion Francesco Moser. The musical moment scheduled for 9:30 pm in Piazza Risorgimento, eloquently titled “Quelli del Byblos” will conclude the day. And among the various proposals on a practically daily basis, there are among others the conference “Furniture craftsmanship towards 2030 between territorial excellence and development perspectives of skills” (next Monday at 9 pm, at Tamburo della Luna) the Livestock Fair (at 9 am the following day, at the sports field of the church of Santa Maria Assunta) and above all the concert by Fabio Concato, scheduled for 9:30 pm on September 5 in Piazza Risorgimento. The “cover” event is however the conferral of honorary citizenship to Don Luigi Ciotti, which will take place on September 7 in the presence of the priest of Pieve di Cadore and founder of Libera (during a ceremony to be held at 11:30 am in the town hall) and will precede the thirty-first edition of the “Marcia per la Giustizia”. The main square will also host the fashion show of the Quarratini shops, on September 8th, while on September 15th the football “Memorial Carlo Ruben Cappellini” will take place at Bennati.
