Russian Sergei Karasev will be the chief referee in the match of the second round of the group stage of the European Football Championship between the national teams of Italy and Switzerland, according to the website of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). The match will take place in Rome on June 16 at 22:00 Moscow time.

Russians Igor Demeshko and Maxim Gavrilin will help Karasev. The fourth judge was appointed Englishman Michael Oliver. German Bastian Dankert will be responsible for the video assistance system for referees (VAR).

Sergey Karasev has been appointed chief arbiter for Euro 2020 for the first time. Previously, he was the fourth referee in the Austria-North Macedonia match (3: 1).
