Sergio Aguero, 33, has retired from football following a heart attack. The Barcelona star has been diagnosed with a serious illness after suffering a shortness of breath during a match against La Liga in La Liga.
Aguero, who broke down in tears after treatment, is returning to football. Aguero has said he will be part of Argentina’s coaching staff for the Qatar World Cup. Aguero said he had discussed the matter with coach Lionel Scaloni and the Argentine Football Association.
Argentina and Qatar have qualified for the World Cup, aiming for their first title since 1986. The Blues have yet to lose. Aguero, a former member of the Copa America, has played 101 matches for Argentina. Aguero has scored 427 goals in 786 appearances for the Independent, Atletico Madrid, Manchester City and Barcelona.
Aguero, Manchester City’s all-time leading goalscorer, is also the most prolific foreign player in the Premier League. Aguero scored 184 goals in 257 games for City.
