2024 World Cycling Championships: Sergio Chumil will participate in Zurich
He 2024 Road Cycling World Championships The race will take place from Saturday 21 to Sunday 29 September 2024 in Zurich, Switzerland. All races, both online and offline, will be held time trialwill end in the city of Sechseläutenplatz, a square located in the center of Zurich, next to the lake of the same name. What will the time trial and route be like at the 2024 World Cycling Championships?
The test of the time trialwhich will be the first time trial for Chumil, will have different routes, a fundamentally flat time trial, with a small uphill section in the middle that should not affect the great specialists. It will start at the Oerlikon velodrome and will cover 46.1 kilometres with an elevation of 413 metres above sea level.
In the men’s elite routeThe peloton will start in Winterthur and cover a distance of 273.9 kilometres, with a cumulative gradient of 4,470 metres above sea level. As usual, the race will have two parts: a first straight section of around 70 kilometres and a second consisting of a seven-lap circuit.
The most difficult section of the first part will be the ascent to Kyburg, a climb of only 1.2 kilometers but with an average gradient of 12% that rises to 16% in some areas. And in the circuit Two almost linked climbs await: the 1.1-kilometre Zürichbergstrasse and the 2.3-kilometre Witikon. The climbs are short but demanding, especially the first two, where the race is sure to be a tough one.
The road test will feature the participation of Olympic champion, Belgian Remco Evenepoel, who will undoubtedly arrive as one of the big favorites. The Ecuadorian Richard Carapaz will also be there and it will be a great opportunity for the chapin cyclist to participate with the best in the world. How cool!
