Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has chosen Nazmul Hossain Shanto as the captain for three editions till 2024. However, BCB has not announced anyone’s name as vice-captain. Although BCB president Nazmul Hasan Papon claims, the board has finalized one as the vice-captain. The name will be announced in a few days.
But inside news is different. BCB has not selected anyone as Shantar’s deputy. They will decide the board’s decision, series by series vice-captains. It is possible to create new leadership. Also, it cannot be confirmed which cricketer will be in which format. That’s why series by series is the best decision.
Nazmul Hasan said, ‘Vice-captain we want to do series by series. Problem is, not sure if all of them will have all the players. Not sure if a player will be in all formats. Someone who is in Test or ODI may not be in T20. If he is in ODI or T20, he may not be in Test. We have pretty much confirmed who will be there but it may change depending on who will be there in that particular series. That is why we are taking time. The vice-captain will be announced ahead.’
