Chandigarh: Harbhajan Singh, the former Indian player and chief advisor of the Punjab Cricket Association, has complained of widespread irregularities in the Punjab Cricket Association. Harbhajan sent a letter to the authorities enumerating the irregularities one by one.

Harbhajan has mainly pointed out the irregularities of President Gulzarinder Singh in inducting new members. In a letter written to the authorities and members, Harbhajan has asked them to intervene to stop such actions. Harbhajan said that he has received many complaints from cricket fans and association members against the President in the last 10 days.

Harbhajan stated that the core of the allegation is that the president is trying to give membership to around 150 people with voting rights in order to retain power and this is not approved by the apex council or the general body and all this is against the BCCI constitution. Harbhajan Singh’s letter says that the official meeting of the association is not even called to hide the irregularities.

Harbhajan, who played domestic cricket for Punjab, was a member of the Indian team that won the T20 World Cup in 2007 and the Indian team that won the ODI World Cup in 2011. Harbhajan retired from active cricket last year. Harbhajan Singh has played 103 Tests, 236 ODIs and 28 T20Is for India.
