Service Telecom claims Veon towers in Russia

Two sources in the mobile infrastructure market told Vedomosti that Service Telecom had sent the Dutch Veon holding an application to acquire about 15,000 of its cell towers in Russia at the beginning of last week. A source close to Service Telecom confirmed this. What terms of the deal “Service Telecom” offered to the owners of the Russian “VimpelCom”, the interlocutors of “Vedomosti” did not specify. During preliminary negotiations with potential buyers, this asset was estimated at about $ 900 million, sources close to their parties said earlier.

Service Telecom did not comment on the possible deal. Veon representatives did not answer Vedomosti’s questions.
