Settat: Inauguration of several health, social and economic projects on the occasion of the Throne Festival

These development projects, inaugurated by the governor of the province of Settat, Ibrahim Abouzaid, and a delegation accompanying him, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the accession of HM King Mohammed VI to the Throne of His glorious ancestors, cover several vital areas, including health, social and solidarity economy.

Regarding the health component, a dialysis center was inaugurated at the Hassan II hospital in Settat. With a total cost of 11.37 million dirhams (MDH), this center was built in partnership between the National Initiative for Human Development (contribution of 2.87 MDH), the Casablanca-Settat region (2.40 MDH), the Ministry of Health and Social Protection (5.5 MDH) and the association leading the project (0.6 MDH).

The center, which consists of three floors, includes two large rooms each equipped with 24 dialysis machines, a room for severe cases, an examination room, a dialysis area for children and severe cases, as well as a kidney transplant awareness area, in addition to administrative facilities. It aims to improve the quality of services offered to patients by providing an infrastructure that meets technical and health standards in this field.

In the commune of Mgarto, a level II rural health center including a maternity hospital was inaugurated. Carried out in partnership between the Rural Development Fund of the province of Settat (4.1 MDH) and the provincial delegation of Health and Social Protection (1 MDH), this project offers various health services to a population of 7,426 people, including medical consultations, family planning, monitoring of pregnant women before and after childbirth, school health and maternal and child health, among others.

In the commune of Oulad Mrah, three projects were inaugurated to strengthen and improve health services for the benefit of a population of more than 30,850 inhabitants.

The first project concerns a level II urban health center, carried out in partnership between the Rural Development Fund of the province of Settat (2.49 MDH) and the provincial delegation of Health and Social Protection (1 MDH), offering local health services, including medical consultations, nursing care, prevention and monitoring of communicable and non-communicable diseases.

The second project concerns a maternity home, built in partnership between the Rural Development Fund of the province of Settat (1.62 MDH) and the delegation of Health and Social Protection (1 MDH), with six midwives and nurses. This maternity hospital offers various services, including monitoring of pregnant women before and after childbirth, vaccination and maternal and child health.

The third project concerns a maternity home built by the INDH, with a total cost of 1,059,685 dirhams. It includes bedrooms, a multipurpose room, sanitary facilities, as well as a reception and awareness area and administrative facilities.

In this regard, the provincial delegate of Health and Social Protection in Settat, Mohamed Ait Khadir, stressed the importance of these projects aimed at strengthening the provision of health care in the province, particularly in rural areas, adding that these health establishments are designed to meet the growing demand for health care services and improve access and reception conditions.

These health facilities are equipped with high-quality medical equipment and the human resources necessary to provide medical and care services, he said in a statement to MAP.

As for the field of solidarity economy, a craft complex was inaugurated in Oulad Mrah, aiming at strengthening local economic and social development and supporting crafts by providing an appropriate space for craftsmen for training, marketing their products and improving their productivity.

This complex, which has mobilized an envelope of 4.8 MDH, includes two exhibition and marketing rooms, four production rooms, a technical room, a warehouse and a space for children. It should contribute to creating jobs and strengthening the sustainable growth of craft activities in the province.

Regarding the social aspect, a Student House, with a capacity of 64 beneficiaries, was inaugurated in the commune of Sidi Hajjaj. This project, carried out in partnership between the Casablanca-Settat region, the commune of Sidi Hajjaj, the Prefectural Committee for Human Development and the Coordination of National Mutual Aid, with a total cost of 2,250,000 dirhams, includes a space for boys and another for girls, as well as a reading room, a dining room, offices and sanitary facilities, among others.

On this occasion, the head of the Income Improvement and Economic Integration of Youth department in the province of Settat, Rachid Hajoum, indicated that these projects, inaugurated on the occasion of the Throne Day, are carried out within the framework of agreements between the INDH and several partners and aim mainly to support the social sector, strengthen the provision of health care and improve economic performance and sustainable development in the province.
