Your smartphone is ringing, but where is it? By the time you find it, the device has gone silent again. We’ll show you how to extend the ringing time.
With Apple and Android devices, the ringing time of the smartphone can be set using so-called control codes. The mobile phone provider often presets 15 seconds before the automatic call forwarding to the mobile box – also known as the mailbox – takes place. This is the happy medium of the adjustable range, which ranges from five to 30 seconds in five-second increments.

To activate the control code, you must enter the following command into the keyboard of your phone app and then click on the telephone receiver:

For example: If you want your smartphone to ring for 25 seconds in the Vodafone network, enter the code **61*5500**25#. The network operator will then confirm the change in setting with a message. Such changes are free of charge and can be repeated as often as you like.
