Russia has launched tonight a missile attack against the Ukrainian city of Pokrovsk, in the eastern region of Donetsk, which has left seven dead – five of them civilians – and 67 injured, according to the balance provided by the Ukrainian Interior Minister, Ihor Klymenko. The attack has targeted an apartment block and a hotel normally used by journalists covering the conflict.

Donestk Region Governor Pavlo Kyrylenko has said that the city center was shelled at least twice in less than an hour, damaging several buildings, private residences, a hotel, restaurants, shops and buildings of the administration. The second attack killed people who were treating the wounded in the first attack, Kyrylenko has denounced.

“Kramatorsk style”
The Druzhba Hotel and the Corleone pizzeria, damaged by the attack, were popular places among journalists, as pointed out by media correspondents such as the BBC, Financial Times, Globe, Mail or Channel 4.
