The Meteorological Institute has issued a warning for heavy rain starting tomorrow afternoon. – Locally, very heavy rain showers are expected.
“For parts of Eastern Norway, very heavy rain showers are expected locally. There will be a large local variation in intensity, and the weather may change rapidly,” according to the Meteorological Institute.
The warning particularly applies from 2 PM to 9 PM. During this time, over 20 millimeters of precipitation is possible in a short period.

He confirms that there is a risk of lightning and thunder. – People should stay away from open water, swimming, and boats when there is lightning and thunder, he warns.
Risk of Surface Water
Heavy rain is intense rainfall of short duration. Often it can be dry in one place while it pours down just nearby. Heavy rain will develop rapidly over a short time and move quickly.
Here are some consequences:
- Risk of surface water in built-up areas, local flooding, changes in streams and river courses, landslides, and flooding where the rain showers hit.
- Risk of closed roads and/or surface water near streams and river courses.
- Locally difficult driving conditions due to surface water and risk of hydroplaning.
