Hyderabad: The severed head of a man was found in front of an idol (Kali diety) at the Kali Temple at Chintapalli in Nalgonda, Andhra Pradesh. The head was found Monday morning. Police said the head of a man who appeared to be about 30 years old was found at the foot of the idol on Monday morning. Police said they suspect a human sacrifice and have launched an investigation into the incident.

Police do not rule out the possibility that he may have banged his head in front of the idol to draw attention after the murder. It is not yet clear who was killed. Locals said it did not belong to anyone living in the area. The temple is located on the highway between Hyderabad and Nagarjuna Sagar. Police Dog Squad and forensic experts arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection.

According to the police, it is more likely that he was killed somewhere else and got into a vehicle and left his head near the idol. CCTV is investigating to find out who was killed and to find the culprits. Police are baffled that the victim could not be identified. The picture of the slain man was handed over to the police in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and neighboring states.
