Anti-corruption officials have confiscated Rs 25 lakh in cash and gold jewelery stashed inside a sewer pipe set up for hoarding cash at the home of a bachelor engineering engineer in Karnataka.
In Karnataka, anti-corruption units raided 68 places owned by 15 government officials. Santa Gowda, who works as a bachelor engineer in public works in the Kalapuragi district, seems to have known in advance that the test could take place at his home as well. Following this, he arranged the bundles of banknotes and gold ornaments in the house like a sewer and stored them inside.
Upon learning of this, the officers cut the sewer pipes and seized Rs 25 lakh cash, several kilos of gold jewelery and important documents stored in them.
