Berlin – At Hertha BSC, a sextet had to miss the start of training for the penultimate away game in the 2nd Bundesliga. Marius Gersbeck, Marten Winkler, Smail Prevljak, Gustav Christensen as well as Michal Karbownik and Jeremy Dudziak trained individually on Tuesday. The Berliners will play against league newcomer Elversberg in Saarland next Sunday at the end of the 32nd match day (1.30 p.m./Sky).
While the six individual players have a chance of playing in Elversberg, Aymen Barkok will be missing. The loan player from Bundesliga club FSV Mainz suffered facial injuries in an incident in a Berlin disco last weekend, which have already been treated surgically. The 25-year-old Moroccan international is out for an indefinite period.
Hertha is playing in a competitive game in the Arena an der Kaiserlinde for the first time. While the Berliners are aiming for the best possible placement in the last three games, the Saarlanders, who are in tenth place, still need a point in order to be able to mathematically plan for another season as a second division team.
