College teacher killed in car crash; Gym trainer arrested
A gymnasium trainer has been arrested for killing a college teacher and leaving her body in the woods. The incident took place near Panaji in Goa. Gauri Acharya, 35, a native of Corlim and a professor at Khandala Government College, was killed. Gaurav Bidra, 36, a gym trainer from Maharashtra, was arrested in connection with the incident. He was arrested by Old Goa police. The two have been close for some time. However, the accused confessed to the police that Gauri Acharya’s withdrawal from friendship was the reason for the murder.
The shocking murder took place last Thursday. The family had lodged a complaint with the police after their daughter went to college in the morning but did not return at night. The police have registered a case and started an investigation focusing on the mobile phone. Meanwhile, Gauri found the Nano car on the road. Meanwhile, Gaurav Bidra was taken into police custody following an investigation into his last call to the woman’s phone number. He later pleaded guilty during interrogation.

The young woman will meet gym coach Gaurav in 2021. The girl got Gaurav Bidra’s number from the internet during a search for fitness trainers who came to her house during Kovid’s control. He then came to Gauri’s house and trained her. Meanwhile, the two became close friends. But since last month, the young woman has started moving away from Gaurav Bidra. The young woman, who had stopped fitness training, did not pick up the phone when she made a serious call. The girl openly said that she did not want to continue the friendship as she was constantly harassed. With this, Gaurav decided to kill the girl.
At around 4.30 pm on the day of the incident, the accused was waiting on the road leading to the woman’s house. He shook hands with a young woman who was returning from college in a car and tried to get into the car to talk. However, he forced the woman into a car and strangled her as she tried to get out, saying she did not want to talk. When he was sure the woman was dead, he drove off and approached a park in Corlim. The body was transferred to his own car which was parked there. The body was later dumped in the jungle near the Goa bypass road.
According to the information received from the accused, the police found the body of the girl in the forest. The body was later shifted to Bambolim Medical College Hospital for postmortem. The arrested Gaurav is reported to have a wife and a child. Gaurav has already been jailed in Mumbai for trying to sexually assault a young woman. According to media reports, he has been the physical trainer of the Under-19 Indian cricket team. A month ago, the accused had also imparted physical training to members of the Goa Anti-Terrorist Squad.
