To create strategies aimed at promoting the culture of saving water, the Ministry of Education and Sports (SEyD) and the Municipal Board of Water and Sanitation (JMAS) of Ciudad Juárez signed a collaboration agreement.
The formal ceremony took place at the “Vicente Guerrero” Primary School, located in the Fovissste Chamizal subdivision, where the Secretary of Education and Sports, Javier González Mocken, and the executive director of the JMAS of Ciudad Juárez, Sergio Nevárez Rodríguez, signed said agreement.
González Mocken pointed out that the objective of the agreement is for girls and boys to instill in themselves and in their respective families the value of caring for water from the first years of school.
“It’s not just saying the water is running out, but what are we going to do so that it doesn’t end, and that starts at school, in the education of girls, boys and young people,” said the head of the SEyD, who He stated that this type of action aimed at saving the vital liquid will be replicated throughout the state.
In turn, the executive director of the JMAS of Ciudad Juárez pointed out that the agency he is in charge of frequently makes agreements with companies, clubs and social organizations to promote water care, however, this alliance with the educational sector will have a very positive impact on the new generations.
In the same way, he reaffirmed the willingness to support the improvement of the facilities of the schools, since the agreement also establishes the support in the infrastructure to avoid the waste of water due to leaks in the toilets or drinking fountains.
María Esther Galindo Chaparro, director of the “Vicente Guerrero” Primary School, stressed that this agreement will help raise awareness of the actions that the new generations must take to take care of the most precious resource.
“Boys and girls, the future of preserving this vital liquid will be in your hands, it is an honor for us to witness the signing of this agreement,” said the director.
