SG Cares continues its efforts to bring food and household essentials to those in need amid rising living costs.

It has partnered with the Association of Professional Engineers.

Under the new partnership, engineering professionals will serve as volunteers.

SG Cares’ volunteer stations can now utilize the skills of engineers.

Volunteers can assist in the installation of electrical equipment, including plumbing work.

SG Cares will also work with the FairPrice Group.

It allows volunteer centers and community partners to purchase large quantities of goods from FairPrice supermarkets.

They will be given a 10 percent discount.

Edwin Thong, Minister of Culture, Social Affairs and Youth Affairs, said that during this period, food, including household essentials, had become a matter of concern to families in need and organizations that lend a hand to them.

He said not everyone should ever be complacent about food items.
