The country’s legendary band star Shafin Ahmed. He breathed his last at Centra Hospital in Virginia, USA on July 25 at 6:50 am Bangladesh time. His funeral was held on Friday (July 26) local time, the first prayer after Friday. His body will be brought home tomorrow (July 29).
According to family sources, the body of Shafin Ahmed is scheduled to land at Dhaka Airport at 5:30 pm on Monday (July 29). Next day, Tuesday (July 30), the funeral will be held at Gulshan Azad Mosque. Burial will follow at Banani Cemetery. Shafin Ahmed’s father music guru Kamal Dasgupta and mother legendary Nazrul artiste Feroza Begum are buried here.
The family has also confirmed about Kulkhani. Kulkhani will be held at Gulshan Community Mosque next to Banani Cemetery after Friday prayers on August 2 to seek forgiveness of Shafin Ahmed’s soul.
On July 9, Shafin Ahmed went to listen to the songs of US expatriates. The second concert was on July 20, in Virginia. Shafin Ahmed collapsed in the hotel room shortly before going on the stage of the show. He was admitted to the hospital, on life support and died on July 25 at exactly 6:09 a.m. Bangladesh time.
His two older brothers, Tahsin and Hamin, wife Dr. Rumana Daula, three sons Maisim, Azraf and Rehan and one daughter Rania; With countless fans-friends-relatives.
Shafin Ahmed was suffering from heart disease for a long time.
