Mumbai: Maharashtra ATS says Shahrukh Saifi, who was arrested in the Kozhikode Elathur train attack case, has confessed to the crime. The accused was handed over to the Kerala Police. In a press release, the Maharashtra ATS informed that the accused was arrested in a joint operation conducted following a tip-off.

Shahrukh Saifi was arrested from Ratnagiri railway station. A Motorola phone, Aadhaar card, PAN card and bank ATM card were in hand when he was caught. Maharashtra ATS informed that the accused reached the railway station after seeking treatment at the hospital.

Steps are being taken to bring the accused to Kerala Police as soon as possible. Shah Rukh was caught by the Maharashtra ATS last night. At the same time, Shahrukh’s father responded that someone had taken Shah Rukh away and he could not believe that his son had done this.

‘Someone took Shahrukh Saifi. He has not been out of Delhi yet. Someone is with him. He left home on March 31. And never came back. On the second day of this month, I filed a complaint with the police that my son was missing. Police came here from Kerala. They inquired about Shah Rukh. I have given all the information. They are the ones who said that their son did this. Couldn’t believe it. The information of the friends has also been handed over to the police’, said the father.
