After the fall of the Awami League government, Dhaka’s Shahjalal International Airport has been closed for 6 hours. This information was informed by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Meanwhile, Airport Director Group Captain Kamrul Islam said that flights have been suspended at Shahjalal International Airport since 5:15 PM on Monday. I have not yet received any instructions regarding flight operations. Later instructions will be informed if available.

It is to be noted that after Sheikh Hasina submitted her resignation letter to the President and left the country on Monday afternoon, the army took charge. Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman gave this information after an emergency meeting at the capital’s cantonment at 3:50 pm on Monday (August 5).

He said that the country will be managed by forming an interim government. I have taken responsibility for the safety of people’s lives and property. You will not be disappointed. All your demands will be fulfilled.

Army chief said, you help us. As many murders have been committed in the ongoing movement, every murder will be judged. Every injustice will be judged.
