Shakib Khan starrer movie ‘Tufaan’. After its theatrical release, it received great response at the box office. On September 19, the superhit movie ‘Tufaan’ was released simultaneously on two OTT platforms. The interest and craze about the movie has not subsided yet. After watching the movie on screen, the interest of the audience is to listen to the story off screen. Keeping that interest in mind, the three central actors of the movie Shakib Khan, Nabila and Chanchal Chowdhury told several unknown stories.
Masuma Rahman Nabila returned to the big screen after a long time with the movie ‘Tufan’. He said, “The people I worked with in ‘Tufan’, their experience in the workplace is much more than mine. So I was more nervous.”
“Earlier I had experience working with Chanchal Bhai (Chanchal Chowdhury) in the movie ‘Ayanabaji’, so the nervousness with him was less. But I was very nervous on the first day of working with Shakib Khan. On the day of the first shot with Mimi (Mimi Chakraborty), I was watching him from a distance. Mimi waved at me at first sight. That was welcoming to me and eased the nervousness.” Nabila said.
Narrating the experience of shooting with Shakib Khan, Nabila said, ‘I prepared well before the first shot with Shakib Khan. Because he is a superstar. Our last scene in the movie was our first scene on the shooting set. I was very nervous. But gradually Shakib Khan made me a lot easier. She is a lovely co-star and she does her job beautifully.’
Talking about being nervous now, Shakib didn’t feel that after seeing Nabila on the shooting set. In his words – ‘Infact Nabila says today that she was nervous. Nabila could not be understood.’
Meanwhile, Chanchal Chowdhury said about the experience of shooting the first scene with Shakib Khan, ‘while shooting the first scene with Shakib Khan, I did not behave as if it was the first screen sharing between me and Shakib. I’ve been into acting since before going on record. At one stage Shakib Khan thought I might be talking about something else. But that was a rehearsal.’
Shakib Khan said, ‘Nervousness of actors works offscreen. For example, when you meet for the first time, when you are going to do the first job, you feel a little nervous. But when I go in front of the camera, any nervousness doesn’t work anymore.’
Who likes who as co-artist? Everyone expressed reluctance to answer this question. But Shakib Khan said, ‘I am very honest in all my movies. When I did the movie, the heroine of that movie is my favorite co-star.
Nabila talked about Shakib-Chanchal’s chemistry without talking about herself. He said, ‘It is difficult for us to name the favorite co-artist here, but we can say about Shakib Khan. His favorite co-artist is Chanchal Chowdhury. Offscreen they were in brotherhood mood all the time.’
‘Tufan’ is Raihan Rafi’s dream movie. Shakib Khan heard this from the first day. According to the superstar, ‘Rafi told me that he does not want to compromise in any sector. He did what he dreamed.’
Raihan Rafi along with Shakib, Chanchal, Nabila, Mimi — all four debut. Chanchal Chowdhury said that there have been many changes in the dialogue on the shooting set. Shakib added, “Rafi wanted to make the movie ‘Toofan’ in a commercial and classical style. If someone watches the movie much later, he will remember that.”
Nabila narrates an incident of shooting to show how meticulous Raihan Rafi is. In his words, ‘I needed a specific prop for a small scene. But the prop did not come. I am ready, set ready, all ready. We were shooting far away. The prop will take a long time to arrive. Still we sat all day for that. Everyone was trying to tell Rafi to shoot without props. But Rafi Nachorbanda, he will need it. I had only one shot that day. I sat all day for one shot.’
The popular dialogue from the movie ‘Toofan’ is ‘Khub Bhoi Paychi Re…’. It can be heard in the mouth of Chanchal Chowdhury. Talking about the making of the dialogue, the actor said, “This dialogue was not written anywhere before. During the shoot, Instant Rafi told me, ‘I need this dialogue Chanchal bhai.’
Nabila said, ‘Because of that spontaneous change in the script, our performance has also become spontaneous and realistic.’
Who used to appear on the shooting set of ‘Toofan’ movie before? Everyone was first like Chanchal. And he was the first than the first. Chanchal said, ‘I used to sit ready before the call time, call the car myself, get information about the assistant who will come to pick me up.’
In this regard, Shakib Khan said, ‘Everyone had a lot of love for the work, everyone was also excited. I was given daily weather reports. Once I said, I should not be given weather report anymore. When I got down from the hotel and got into the car, got down from the car and went to the van again, it was hot at that time, I thought I can’t shoot today bro, impossible. But when I got to work, it didn’t feel hot anymore.’
On the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, ‘Toofan’ was released in the theaters of the country on June 17. This movie created a storm outside the country.
