Shama Obaid

Shama Obaid, the central leader of BNP, has expressed his position regarding the clash between two sides of BNP in Faridpur and the death of one person. He said, I have no involvement with the incident of clash in Faridpur on August 21. I am continuing the responsibility assigned to me by the party. I reject the incident of 21 August clashes and casualties with disgust.

Shama Obaid claimed himself ‘innocent’

He said these things in a statement sent to the media on Sunday (August 25) night.

Shama Obaid said that information including pictures and names of many people involved in this incident has been published on social media. The identity of the clashers are members of the terrorist forces of the previous government including Awami League, Jubo League, Chhatra League and Bangladesh Tariqat Federation.

He said, I fully support the organizational decision taken under the direction of Tariq Rahman, acting chairman of BNP, in the incident in which one person was killed and several others were injured in the clash that took place in Faridpur’s Nagarkanda on August 21. Later, on August 24, I was accused in a murder case. I want a fair and impartial investigation into the incident and the subsequent case.

It is to be noted that in the Faridpur incident, Tarek Rahman has suspended the post of Shama Obaid as the central organizing secretary and the post of Shahidul Islam Babul as the general secretary of Krishak Dal.
