Comedian Shane Gillis returns to Studio 8H to host Saturday Night Live for his third time on October 10, 2026, joined by Spanish singer Rosalía as the musical guest. The live NBC broadcast marks the third episode of Season 52 as the show prepares for a two-week hiatus.
Season 52 of Saturday Night Live reaches its first milestone this weekend, wrapping up an initial three-week run with a familiar face taking the reins. Stand-up comedian Shane Gillis returns to host the sketch comedy series for the third time on October 10, 2026.
The episode pairs Gillis with global pop sensation Rosalía, who steps onto the Studio 8H stage as the evening’s musical guest. The broadcast follows opening-week host Jalen Brunson on September 26 and Dakota Johnson on October 3, maintaining a streak of high-profile entertainment as the show heads into a brief scheduled break.
Shane Gillis Returns to Studio 8H Following Record-Breaking Summer Tour
Gillis arrives at Studio 8H following a massive year in stand-up comedy. Over the summer, the Pennsylvania-raised comic packed Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field on July 17, drawing 73,946 attendees and selling 77,047 tickets to set two Guinness World Records for audience size and ticket sales by a solo comedian. Beyond his live tours, Gillis stars in the third season of his Netflix comedy series Tires, which premiered on August 13.

His history with the late-night institution includes a brief stint as a cast member before being dropped in 2019. He later returned to host in Season 49 on February 24, 2024, and again on March 1, 2025, delivering viral sketches such as “CouplaBeers” and “HR Meeting.”
Originally hired for Season 45, Gillis was let go before the episodes began airing following public backlash over past remarks. He eventually mended relations with the program and was invited back to host in Season 49, addressing the situation directly in his opening monologue.
Saturday Night Live’s well underway. While musical supernova Taylor Swift’s recent appearance at Studio 8H may have caused some commotion, this week’s host and musical guest are going to make the Oct. 10 show one to remember.
