Shannen Doherty (52) is preparing to die

by time news

Actress Shannen Doherty (52), known for her roles in, among others, Beverly Hills, 90210 and Charmed, got breast cancer in March 2015. Two years later she was declared healthy, but in February 202 it turned out that the cancer had returned, and this time had it spread to other organs, writes Dagbladet.

Shannen has chosen to be open about the disease, and among other things shared thoughts about her own funeral. In the podcast “Let’s Be Clear”, she says that she has gotten rid of her possessions, by donating or giving them away, to make it easier for those left behind when she dies. She doesn’t want them to have lots of practical things to take care of.

– My priority now is my mother. I know it will be difficult for her if I pass away before her, she says in the podcast.

She also says that it was an emotional and tearful process, when thoughts that she felt she was giving up a dream, and giving up life, appeared.

– I love my husband, but I don’t want to have sex anymore

Praised

During an Instagram post about the podcast, many are praising the actor for his openness.

“I think a lot about you. Thanks for talking about all this. It is big. People are terrified of death, but even more afraid to talk about it. You will be remembered for how you touched people with these discussions,” one writes.

“You are such a great support and role model for all of us who have or have had cancer. We all live with that fear. As Princess Catherine said: You are not alone!” writes another.

Thoughts about own funeral

Thoughts about her own funeral came up when she went over her will again, in connection with an operation she had last year, when she removed a brain tumour.

– It made me start thinking about who is going to be there. And there are a lot of people that I think will show up that I don’t want there. The reason they come isn’t necessarily the best, and it’s not like they really like me. They show up at my funeral because it’s the right thing to do, and they don’t want to look bad, says the actress, adding that she wants to remove the pressure from those concerned.
