Sharjah: The 9th Sharjah International Film Festival for Children and Youth in October. The film festival will be held from October 10 to 15 at the Al Jawahar Convention and Reception Centre. Films from various genres including animation, short films, features and documentaries will be screened at the festival.
95 films from 43 countries are on display. Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah Sheikh Dr. Chalachathrotsam is also organized under the patronage of Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi. Films will also be screened at Al Sahiya City Center and Mirdif City Center.
Shaikha Jawahar, Director of Sharjah International Film Festival, said that 95 films will compete in seven different categories, including 12 in the Child and Youth Made Films category, 16 in the Student Film category, 8 in the GCC Short Film category, 8 in the International Short Film category, 28 in the Animation category, 7 in the Documentary Film category and 16 in the Feature Film category. Bint Abdullah Al Qasimi said. She added that 30 films will debut in the Middle East this year. Children can also participate in film-related discussion panels.
