Sharjah to Use Artificial Intelligence to Prevent Traffic Jams: 48 Traffic Signals to be Controlled Using AI System

Sharjah: The authorities have decided to bring the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to prevent traffic jams in Sharjah. 48 traffic signals will be controlled using AI system. According to the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority, this is up to 30 percent of the total traffic.
SRTA Chairman Yusif Alathmani said sensors and cameras will be adjusted after real-time traffic analysis. It will work according to the arrival of vehicles. Various schemes have been announced to facilitate road traffic in 2023. Apart from this, AI has also decided to use Sanketi Vidya. It is also working with BEHA to expand electric vehicle charging infrastructure across the emirate. More charging stations are being installed on highways. Charging stations will also be installed in locations that include major commercial and urban areas.
