“We understand the concerns, frustrations and eagerness to ask for a refund from a part of parents. However, this approach at the current difficult time of Apax Leaders only makes the children more disadvantaged. This is also the best way for Apax to have the opportunity to return the commitments made to parents,” said Thuy.
Regarding the restructuring progress, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan – CEO of Apax Leaders said that Apax is focusing on reopening from 30 to 33 centers in phase 1 nationwide, in which, in particular, in the city. Ho Chi Minh City will reopen 4-5 centers to address the immediate learning needs of students. After that, it will continue to reopen at least 9 centers in the most convenient locations in the city. At the meeting, many parents questioned the progress of confirming the number of lessons and the remaining amount of tuition as committed at a recent meeting with Apax leaders. According to the plan from the Restructuring Board, at the end of April 2023, Apax will reopen from 10 to 12 centers according to the roadmap of phase 2. Several parents who attended the meeting said they couldn’t wait for more of Apax’s restructuring and wanted a refund. Others think that their children are too old to study this program, so they also want to withdraw the fee. However, another part of parents said: “As long as Apax centers reopen soon, I will still send my children to school.”
