Xiaomi has announced a new phone from the Redmi brand, the Redmi K50, which is a continuation of the Redmi K40 that is marketed in some Western countries under the name Poco F3 GT. So is the new model, which may make its way to some markets as the Poco F4 GT, with no significant change in specifications or design.

The Redmi K50 comes with Qualcomm’s new chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, inside a unique evaporation chamber designed to get the most out of it. The memory capacity is between 8 and 12 GB, while the file storage capacity is 128 or 256 GB depending on the model chosen. The display is an OLED type, measuring 6.67 inches and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

The battery capacity of the Redmi K50 stands at 4,700 mAh, with support for fast charging with a power of up to 120 watts when connected to a compatible power supply. The camera array includes a main sensor with a resolution of 64 megapixels, a wide-angle sensor (8 megapixels) and a macro sensor (2 megapixels). In addition, the device comes with a pair of game controls unique to the games, which are removable on the side and can also be disconnected so that they will not interfere when they are not needed.

Following Redmi’s early announcement of a partnership with Mercedes’ Formula 1 racing team, the Redmi K50 will be available in a Mercedes edition that comes in a combination of metallic shades, and is exactly the same as the other models. The price will be about $ 662 in China, compared to starting at $ 568 for non-branded models. There are no details yet on the start of marketing the device in the West.
