Mendes wrote in the official message he issued: “As you know, I had to postpone the last few weeks of performances because I was not fully prepared for the price that my return would charge me. I started this tour excited to finally return to performing live after a long break due to the pandemic, but the reality is that I was not at all Trust how hard it would be to perform after that time. After talking more with my team and working with an amazing group of health professionals, it became more clear to me that I needed to take the time I never took.”

Mendes added: “I’m taking the time for myself to ground myself and come back stronger. Unfortunately I have to cancel the rest of the tour dates in North America, and the UK/Europe. We were hoping that I might be able to make it, but at this point I have to put my health first. It’s Not saying I won’t be making new music, and I can’t wait to see you on tour in the future. I know you’ve been waiting so long to see these shows, and it breaks my heart to tell you this, but I promise I’ll be back once I’ve taken the right time to heal. I love you all and thank you all so much for supporting me and sticking with me on this journey, it will be fine.”
