At that moment, the direction was also taken by the Democratic presidential candidate, who started laughing in response. Even though she didn’t have her microphone on at the time, she could be faintly heard saying “this is unbelievable”. A clip of the moment became one of the most viral posts on the X Network.
Host David Muir subsequently refuted Trump’s statement. “ABC News spoke with the mayor of Springfield. He told us there are no confirmed reports of people from the immigrant community harming pets there,” he explained.
