Abu Dhabi | Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the representative of the ruler of Al Dhafra region and chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent, visited those who survived the earthquake in Syria and are being treated in various hospitals in Abu Dhabi. He visited those undergoing specialist treatment at Burjeel Medical City and Sheikh Khalifa Medical City.
Many people were brought to the country for treatment on the instructions of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the mother of the UAE, to provide medical assistance to those injured in the earthquake in Syria and Turkey. He asked relatives and medical experts about the health status and conditions of those undergoing treatment. The injured will be provided with the best treatment and rehabilitation plans. He stated that the UAE will not miss any opportunity to provide assistance to the disaster victims in Syria and Turkey and thanked those who participated in the initiative to provide assistance to the disaster victims.
Minister Dr. Maita Bint Salim Al Shamsi, Head of Health Department Mansoor Al Mansoori, Burjeel Holdings Founder and Chairman Dr. Shamshir accompanied the field. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan came to Burjeel Medical City to visit the ten-year-old Sham Sheikh Mohammed and his brother Omar who survived the earthquake in Syria.
Sham was rescued from the rubble 46 hours after the earthquake. Then he was transferred to Turkey. Sham and his brother Umar arrived in Abu Dhabi along with a medical team sent to Istanbul through a special medical mission organized by Emirates Red Crescent and Burjeel Holdings. The group traveled by private plane on Tuesday night and returned with the children on Wednesday morning. Both were immediately shifted to Burjeel Medical City.
