Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque said that education is the basic right of every child, they will have the opportunity to get education free of charge. Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is making that arrangement.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at a function at Kalagachia Union Parishad High School of Bandar Upazila of Narayanganj on Wednesday (March 22) afternoon.
The minister said, today four-storey buildings are being built in primary schools in Bangladesh, free books are being distributed to students up to class 10 on the first day of the year. Prime Minister distributed 42 crore books this year too. I dare say, no other country in the world gives away so many books for free at once.
He said that there are no homeless people in 220 villages of Bangladesh. We have already given 9 lakh houses to the landless in government areas. Those who have land but no houses will be given houses. Bangabandhu said no people will be homeless, Bangabandhu wrote in the constitution. Health care is also being ensured in villages. So that no people die without food, the government is giving VGF, old age allowance, widow allowance, husband desertion allowance, disability allowance, so that people can eat and live.

The minister said that after Bangabandhu was killed on August 15, 1975, the country had lost its way. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is taking measures so that she does not lose her way in the future. What we could not do, you (students) will establish the Sonar Bangla of Bangabandhu’s dream and the Smart Bangladesh of the Prime Minister.
Mozammel Haque said to the students, you are studying with the money of the state. So you also have responsibility towards the state. It is a matter of looking at what I gave to the state, not what the state gave us.
The school’s managing committee president Salim Raza presided over the event and various leaders and activists including Narayanganj-5 Constituency Member of Parliament AKM Salim Osman, Bandar Upazila Parishad Chairman MA Rashid, Vice Chairman Sanaullah Sanu and Kalagachiya Union Parishad Chairman Delwar Hossain Pradhan were present in the event.
