Bangladesh Awami League President Sheikh Hasina’s imprisonment day is Tuesday (July 16). On this day of 1-11, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Tanaya Sheikh Hasina was arrested on July 16, 2007 in various cases of forgery, harassment and conspiracy during the undemocratic caretaker government.
In the early hours of that day, nearly two thousand members of law and order forces completely illegally surrounded Sudha Sadan, the Dhanmondi residence of Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina. In this situation, Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina offered Fajr prayers. At around 7:30 am, members of the joint force arrested Awami League President Sheikh Hasina in a harassment and false case and brought her out of Sudha Sadan. The members of the joint forces produced him in the CMM court in Dhaka while being illegally detained.
According to the blueprint of the then illegal and unconstitutional caretaker government, the Metropolitan Magistrate illegally disallowed Awami League President Sheikh Hasina’s bail application two hours before the scheduled time for court proceedings to begin. By arresting Sheikh Hasina, the then undemocratic and unconstitutional caretaker government tried to block the democratic rights of the people of Bengal. Brave Sheikh Hasina stood at the court gate and protested against the illegitimate government’s nefarious political conspiracy through a fiery speech of about 36 minutes.
Before the arrest, Awami League President Sheikh Hasina through a letter addressed to the countrymen urged the people of the country and Awami League leaders and activists to stand against injustice without losing morale to protect democracy.
When the countrymen and party leaders woke up under Sheikh Hasina’s instructions, the caretaker government’s conspiracy faced severe resistance. On June 11, 2008, in view of the continuous resistance movement of Awami League and other allied organizations and democracy-seeking countrymen, the uncompromising and firm attitude of Bangabandhu and the stubborn demands of the countrymen, the then illegal caretaker government was forced to release the popular leader Sheikh Hasina after 11 months of imprisonment and multifaceted conspiracies.
With the release of Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina, the democratic rights of the people of this country returned again. Democracy and development developed simultaneously.

Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina’s journey in national and international politics began with her father’s uncompromising attitude in establishing the democratic rights of the people of this country. Sheikh Hasina had to endure a lot of imprisonment and torture during the people’s liberation movement. Had to face death countless times. With the love of the people, Sheikh Hasina is marching unceasingly like a fearless soldier to advance Bangladesh, ignoring all conspiracies. Sheikh Hasina, who has overcome all obstacles, shines not only in Bangladesh, but also in the world court.
