Dubai: Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, announced the UAE’s priority goals for 2023, including strengthening indigenization in the country’s employment sector.

Importance of consolidating national identity

Sheikh Mohammed said after the cabinet meeting that the UAE’s first priority in the new year is to focus on unifying the national identity of Emirati. The second priority task is to protect the environment and protect its sustainability. Sheikh Mohammed also announced that the three other priorities are the development of the education sector, strengthening the indigenization of the labor sector in the country and expanding the UAE’s economic partnership around the world.

UAE’s achievements in 2022 are outstanding

Hailing the progress made by the country in 2022, the Dubai ruler announced that the country is looking forward to fulfilling its ambitions in the coming 12 months. Sheikh Mohammed said that the UAE is one of the governments that can best adapt to the situation. We reviewed the performance results for 2022 in the Cabinet meeting. The Cabinet issued more than 900 decisions during this period. A total of 22 government policies were developed and adopted. 68 Federal Laws have been amended and promulgated. 113 National Regulatory Regulations have been prepared, approved and implemented – he said.

Entered into international agreements for development

The country signed and ratified various international agreements in 2022 to take the country’s economic, social, infrastructural and digital sectors to the next level. By 2022, the government has formed more than 120 teams from 110 federal and local authorities and 50 private sector agencies. He also stated that through these, the country was able to lead the activities of modernizing more than 100 federal social, economic, educational and regulatory laws in order to move with the changes that the country and the world have undergone.

UAE leads in 339 indicators

Sheikh Mohammed also said that in 2022, the UAE was able to become the first in many development, economic and social sectors at the global level. Last year, our country was ranked among the top five countries in the world in 339 developmental, economic and social indicators. He said that they will continue to work towards realizing their desire to make the UAE the best country in the world. As we embark on a new journey in 2023, our country is competing with the same. God willing, it will compete with time to become the best country in the world – he clarified.
