Sheinbaum recognizes electoral magistrates for Morena’s supermajority in the House of Representatives

The president-elect of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, recognized the work of the magistrates of the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (TEPJF) who approved granting a supermajority to Morena in the Chamber of Deputies which opponents have called “overrepresentation.”

The future president stressed that despite the pressures that the electoral magistrates received, they managed to apply the electoral law and the Constitution.

“A recognition to the magistrates of the Electoral Tribunal who mentioned it yesterday, despite pressure and everything they received, they complied with the law and with what the Constitution says.”

Interviewed upon arriving at her transition house, she denied that there would be an overrepresentation in San Lázaro, “in reality what the council did INE and what he did yesterday Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Branch of the Federationwell, it was complying with the law, it is very good and my recognition,” he said.

With this resolution the Electoral Courtendorsed the allocation of plurinominal deputies made by the National Electoral Institute (INE)in such a way that Morena, PT and PVEM will have 364 deputies; Strength and Heart for Mexicocomposed of the PAN, PRI y PRD, was in second place with 108 legislators; Movimiento Ciudadano would have 27 and one deputy would be independent.
