Oregon: Jamaica’s Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce became a runner at the World Athletics Championships 2022. Shelly broke the meet record in the 100m and finished in 10.67 seconds to win the gold. This is 35-year-old Shelly’s fifth world athletics gold. Jamaica maintained its dominance in the women’s 100m by sweeping the medals.

Sherika Jackson took the silver with a time of 10.73 seconds and Jamaica’s Elaine Thompson took the bronze with a time of 10.81 seconds. Britain’s Dina Asher Smith broke the national record but fell short of the podium.

Earlier, the United States swept all three medals in the men’s 100m event in front of their home crowd. Gold went to Fred Kerley who finished in 9.86 seconds. Marvin Bracey took silver with 9.88 (.874) seconds and Trayvon Bromell took bronze with 9.88 (.876) seconds. No one can challenge the American triumvirate.
