New Delhi: India’s experienced opener Shikhar Dhawan has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. Dhawan (38) said that he has represented the national team in all three formats since making his international debut in an ODI against Australia in Visakhapatnam in 2010 and he is retiring as a satisfied person. Dhawan spoke from his heart in his retirement speech by sharing a video. During this, ‘Gabbar’ also looked emotional.

What did you say with moist eyes?

Dhawan said in the video, ‘I always had a goal in my mind to play for India and I achieved it thanks to a lot of people. First of all my family, my childhood coaches Tarak Sinha and Madan Sharma, under whose guidance I learned cricket. Then my entire team, with whom I played for years. Got everyone’s love and support. As it is said that to move forward in the story you have to turn the pages. So, I am doing the same, I am announcing my retirement from international and domestic cricket and now when I am saying goodbye to my cricket journey, I am satisfied that I played a lot for my country. I am really grateful to BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) and DDCA (Delhi and District Cricket Association) for giving me this opportunity and all my fans for their love and support. I just tell myself that do not be sad that you will not play for your country again, but always be happy that you played for your country. And this is the biggest achievement for me that I played.”
