Lilia Boo is in second place with a 6-under 210
Shin Ji-ae jumped to the lead in the third round of the AIG Women’s Open (total prize money of $9.5 million, approximately 12.6 billion won), the last major tournament of the LPGA Tour season.
Shin Ji-ae shot a 5-under 67 with 7 birdies and 2 bogeys in the 3rd round of the tournament held at the Old Course at St. Andrews (par 72) in Fife, Scotland on the 25th (Korean time).
With this, Shin Ji-ae rose from 11th place to 1st place with a score of 7-under 209.
Having played in the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour and the Japan Ladies Professional Golf Association (JLPGA) Tour, she is aiming for her first win in 11 years since 2013.
Shin Ji-eun recorded two birdies and finished with a 4-under 212, tying for 4th place with Lydia Ko (New Zealand).
Lim Jin-hee tied for 6th place with a 3-under 213, Kim Hyo-joo tied for 16th place with a 1-under 215, and Lee So-mi tied for 19th place with an even-par 216.
Hee Young Yang, winner of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship last June, finished tied for 27th (1-over 217).
Im Ji-hyang (2-over par 218 strokes) tied for 34th place, Kim Sei-young, Choi Hye-jin, and Yoo Hae-ran (all 3-over par 219 strokes) tied for 43rd place, Ahn Na-rin (4-over par 220 strokes) tied for 58th place, and Kim In-kyung (8-over par 224 strokes) ranked 82nd.
Meanwhile, defending champion Lilia Bou (USA) is in hot pursuit of Shin Ji-ae, coming in second (6-under 210).
