The Kotz’ijan Fall Winter 2023/2024 collection, presented by Figueroa, showed a simple, comfortable line with an urban chic air with pieces made with fabrics according to the season, such as wool, velvet, silk and recycled denim. As in previous seasons, it included pieces of fabric made by hand such as the foot loom and the waist loom; also textiles made using the pre-Columbian Chivas technique, which is in the process of being rescued by artisans from the communities of San Martín Jilotepeque, Santo Domingo Xenacoj and Tecpan.

“It is exciting and proud to represent Guatemala. This is the door to new opportunities, not only as a designer, but as a representative of the fashion industry in my country, knowing that we are leaving our mark and paving the way during one of the most important fashion weeks in the world,” said Eduardo Figueroa. .

Together with the designer, the Guatemalan models Isabella Azzari, from the FACES Model Management agency; and María Paula Mejía, from IZ Agency, walked the FDLA runway and had the opportunity to model for renowned Spanish fashion designers Custo Barcelona and Agatha Ruiz de La Prada, among others. That led them to position themselves and appear in important magazines such as Vogue.

“Being part of this event representing Guatemala is a dream come true. I am grateful for all the support I have received and I feel very blessed to have participated in this experience”, commented Paula Mejía, IZ Agency model.

The color trends of Pinturas Palette, for the different spheres that use this medium as the main channel of expression and operation, created Palette, Ancestral, Travel, New World and Meta color trends, which are based on those elements and phenomena that define the new present and limit it to colors that are based on life as it is currently experienced.

“Our colors are selected to bring change. We seek that each collection portrays where we come from, the journey to where we want to go, the new discoveries and the promise of a bright future”, expressed the Licda. Aida Suaréz, VP Strategy and Marketing, Pinturas Paleta.

Guatemala Fashion Week celebrates its tenth edition and the celebrations begin next April, when they will present the summer collection, where Eduardo Figueroa will appear together with two more platforms of national designers, with the aim of promoting the consumption of national design. And in November, the long-awaited Fashion Week will be announced, from the 7th to the 9th.
