Shiomi announced the Black Shark 5 series, which includes three models: Black Shark 5, Black Shark 5 RS and- Black Shark 5 Pro. The devices are currently available for purchase only in China and online stores. Shiomi has not yet announced the date of arrival in the global markets.
The three devices announced are very similar when it seems that the main differences are in the processor and the photo systems. The three devices come with a 6.67-inch screen with 1080 × 2400 resolution, with a refresh rate of 144 Hz and an illuminance of 1300nits. The regular model comes with the Snapdragon 870 processor, the RS model comes with the Snapdragon 888 Plus processor while the Pro model comes with the most advanced Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. In terms of operating memories there is a difference in favor of the Pro model. While the other two models come with 8 or 12 GB of operating memory, the Pro model comes with up to 16 GB of operating memory.
For the first time, Shiomi uses new technology in the field of storage, with storage volumes coming in at 128/256/512 GB in the UFS3.1 standard, in addition to the RS models and the pro storage also comes in an SSD. According to Shiomi the split storage technology, which they call it Disk Array 2.0Leads to an increase in the rate of reading and writing by 55 to 69 percent.
As befits a gaming smartphone the devices have a dedicated cooling system with improved and larger evaporation chambers from previous editions. In addition, to improve the gaming experience, just as they existed in previous generations, here too we have shoulder buttons on the right side of the device which rise magnetically while playing. In order to improve the game’s capabilities again and again, as befits a smartphone which will be produced especially for gaming the Pro model comes with a touch touch of 720 Hz, a screen with SGS Blu-ray approval and a delay of 8.3ms for touch with multiple fingers. The screen also supports the HDR10 + standard and a billion colors.
The photo setup is different between the three devices. Black Shark 5 comes with a 64-megapixel camera with an f / 1.8 aperture key, a 13-megapixel camera with an f / 2.4 aperture key for wide-angle 120-degree shooting, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The selfie camera protrudes from a small hole in the center of the top of the device and is a 16-megapixel camera.
The Black Shark 5 RS comes with a 64-megapixel camera with an f / 1.8 aperture key, an 8-megapixel camera with an f / 2.4 aperture key for wide-angle 120-degree shooting and a 5-megapixel macro camera. The selfie camera protrudes from a small hole in the center of the top of the device and is a 20-megapixel camera.
The Black Shark 5 Pro comes with a 108-megapixel camera with an f / 1.8 aperture key, a 13-megapixel camera with an f / 2.4 aperture key for wide 120-degree shooting and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The selfie camera protrudes from a small hole in the center of the top of the device and is a 16-megapixel camera.
The three devices have Fast wired charging of 120 watts When for the regular and pro model the battery has a power of 4,650 mAh while the RS model has a battery with a power of 4,500 mAh. Another small difference between the three devices is that only the RS model has a standard headphone jack while the other two do not.
