On Saturday, the Russian Hockey Federation named the captain of the country’s Olympic team at the Beijing Olympics. They became one of the most experienced team players – Dynamo Moscow striker Vadim Shipachev.
The captain’s assistants are also named. They were the defender of CSKA Nikita Nesterov, the forward of the capital’s army team Sergei Andronov and the player of the defensive line of the Magnitogorsk “Metallurg” Egor Yakovlev.
The Russian team at the Olympics in Beijing will perform in the same group with the national teams of the Czech Republic, Switzerland and Denmark.
