Three people died after the sinking of a vessel with 12 crew members in Guanabara Baynear the island of Paquetá, in Rio de Janeiro, this Sunday afternoon (5).

The Fire Department reported that it was triggered at 5:25 pm. According to updated reports, there were 14 people on board the vessel. Six victims were rescued by third parties, received first aid and were referred for medical care on Ilha do Governador: two women, two men and two male children.

Five victims remain missing: a child and a teenager, both male, and three adults, one male and two female.

Lifeguards and divers from the corporation act in the searches, with the support of speedboats, jet skis, boats and aircraft.

The operation will continue uninterrupted.
